I have just found out there’s going to be a new Family Guy spin-off show, ‘The Cleveland Show’.
According to Fox’s Press Release, Family Guy spin-off show ‘The Cleveland Show’ is merely a working title for the series which will see Family Guy’s Cleveland Brown move from Quahog, Rhode Island to the town of Stoolbend, Virginia.
The Cleveland Show - Production
‘The Cleveland Show’ will be written and executive-produced by Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy, American Dad), Rich Appel (The Simpsons, King of The Hill) and Mike Henry (Family Guy).
Family Guy spin-off show, ‘The Cleveland Show’ is set to debut in the US on the Fox network in 2009.
The Cleveland Show - Plot
Cleveland Brown is a funny character in Family Guy, but I’m not sure he’s a ‘breakout character’ as such. Glenn Quagmire definately is, maybe even Mayor Adam West, either of those two could easily justify their own spin-off show, but Cleveland, I’m not so sure.
Cleveland will have some surpises instore for him including a flirtatious new stepdaughter, a 5-year-old stepson who loves the ladies, as well as a collection of neighbors that includes a loudmouth redneck couple, a British family seemingly stuck in the Victorian era and a family of bears living at the end of the block.
The Cleveland Show - Style
I’m assuming the style of ‘The Cleveland Show’ will be a little more narrative-driven, like The Simpsons or American Dad. I’m not sure anyone outside of a mental asylum would have the imagination to write two Family Guy -esque shows full of non-sequiturs at the same time.
In the past Family Guy has been criticised for its continual use of non-sequiturs; in my opinion its the bizarre and random nature of Family Guy that makes it my favourite animated show, ever.

Huh? The bender movie wasn’t a spin off, it just wasn’t called Futurama for certain reasons. A spin off is when a character is moved from the original locale and leaves behind the rest (or most) of the cast (Joey, Fraisier etc)
I agree tho, I can’t see this having much of an impact, it’s probably a joke that will run for one episode.
Ty for the info tho
