The third episode of Family Guy’s brand new season 7, entitled ‘Road To Germany‘, aired on Fox in the US October 19th 2008. In ‘Road To Germany‘, Stewie and Brian travel back in time to save Mort Goldman from the Nazis.

This Family Guy episode was brilliantly written and directed, with excellent parodies and jokes throughout. I waited a fortnight to watch ‘Road To Germany‘ and I was not disappointed; Family Guy’s brand new season 7 is a triumph!
‘Road To Germany‘ - Pop-Culture References
Many great pop-culture references remained sufficiently vague so as not to attract legal action.
Like when the newspaper picture of Hitler shaking hands with Mickey Mouse appears; implying perhaps that Walt Disney made cartoon propaganda for the Nazis and/or that Walt himself was anti-Semitic.

I’m not saying either of those things are true… but I have heard both those rumours before!!!
Despite the US Election next month, Family Guy continued it’s anti-Republican tirade; Stewie found a McCain-Palin campaign badge on a Nazi uniform.

‘Road To Germany‘ - Parodies
‘Road To Germany‘ does a parody of so many things, I thought I’d try to list a few.
- When Brian, Stewie and Mort lure 3 Nazi’s around a corner to obtain their uniforms a Star Wars Blaster noise is heard, parodying the scene in ‘Star Wars‘ where Han Solo and Chewbacca lure Stormtroopers into the Millenium Falcon to obtain their uniforms.
When Brian, Stewie and Mort are being chased by Nazis, Stewie breaks apart a farmer’s cart and uses the base as a skateboard, parodying the Marty-Biff chase scene in ‘Back To The Future‘. Stewie even jumps onto and over the car and the Nazis crash into manure.- When Stewie mirrors Hitler it’s a parody the Marx Brothers film ‘Duck Soup‘.
- When scene where Brian, Stewie and Mort escape from the plane in a raft parodies ‘Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom‘.
- When Police cars pile into the crashed submarine, that’s a parody of ‘Blues Borthers‘.
- Just before the dogfight Stewie calls Brian ‘Goose’ in a parody of ‘Top Gun‘.
The Hawk Men who appear during the Battle of Britain dogfight are from ‘Flash Gordon‘. Brian Blessed voiced the Prince, the same character he played in the 1980 film Flash Gordon. Brian Blessed’s a life-long friend of Patrick Stewart who plays Avery Bullock in Family Guy’s sister show ‘American Dad!‘.
