It took me ages to find a high definition copy of the trailer for the new ‘Star Trek Movie‘ but it was worth it.

It looks from this new ‘Star Trek Movie‘ trailer like James Kirk was a mischievous little shit as a boy, presumably the mysterious alien-robot-thing encourages him to try harder.

I think by showing the origins of the ‘Star Trek‘ characters and how they came to be on the Enterprise it will bring more ‘human interest’ to ‘Star Trek‘ which in the last decade began to revolve more around technology than people; maybe the reason for it’s decline?

I like the gritty and realistic Earth (I assume it’s Earth) you see in this trailer.

It seems from the trailer that J.J. Abrams has gone for a more blue collar Earth like in ‘Aliens‘ rather than the lush and beautiful Utopian Earth you usually see in previous ‘Star Trek‘ movies.

What car is it that James Kirk is driving and probably stolen in the trailer? I have no idea about cars, least of all American ones…

I’ve suddenly become captivated by the upcoming Keanu Reeves movie ‘The Day the Earth Stood Still‘. Based on a 1951 film of the same name, this 2008 reimagining (Keanu Reeves doesn’t do remakes apparently) looks quite good. Check out this official trailer for ‘The Day the Earth Stood Still‘.

From the trailer I’d say ‘The Day the Earth Stood Still‘ appears to be ‘K-Pax‘, ‘Independence Day‘ and ‘War of The Worlds‘ all somehow rolled into one.

Apparently Keanu Reeves will play Klaatu, a perfectly pleasant and well-mannered alien in human form. Sadly Klaatu has been sent to Earth to tell us that we are to be destroyed.

‘The Day the Earth Stood Still‘ will be released in the US on Dec 12 2008.

I’ve ordered the 1951 original of ‘The Day the Earth Stood Still‘ from lovefilm.com as I’m determined to see the original first as I’m told it’s a classic.

OMFG! ‘Terminator Salvation‘ looks immense! Check out this ‘Terminator Salvation‘ trailer which I saw for the first time today and then immediately wet myself.

When I first heard about ‘Terminator Salvation‘ (it’s not T4 technically, but it kinda is in reality) I was sceptical that a sci-fi saga I cherish was going to be ruined by a cheap milking.

But as soon as I heard Christian Bale was playing John Connor in ‘Terminator Salvation‘, I breathed a sigh of relief. Christian Bale is a quality actor who earned my respect with ‘The Machinist‘ long before he did Batman. I’m sure Christian Bale will make an excellent adult John Connor.

I was also reassured because the recent second season of ‘Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles‘ is far, far batter than I expected too.

Forking the time lines seems to’ve allowed them to explore every aspect of the struggle against the machines in every time frame without ever ret-conning the other timelines; genius.
