Interests

My interests are pretty diverse. I’m that special brand of clever-dumb that can understand the finer points of quantum theory but can’t kick a ball. I know the randomest things, yet there are massive gaps in my common-knowledge.

Art
I’m a big fan of modern art; Picasso, Andy Warhol, Henry Moore, Cornelia Parker. One of my favourite pieces of Modern Art is The Great Bear by Simon Patterson (1992).

Festivals, Gigs & Music
I used to help promote and DJ at pub and nightclub gigs in Crawley, Horley and Redhill. It was great for a while, but all things end.

Few things make me feel as free and glad to be alive as being in a savage mosh pit; it’s like being let out of captivity.
I went to Global Gathering and Reading Festivals in 2008 and had an amazing summer so this year I’m going to attend three.

  1. The Download Festival in June is a metal and rock festival; I’m looking forward to Hatebreed, Pendulum, SlipKnot, The Prodigy, A Day To Remember, Bring Me the Horizon, Limp Bizkit and Billy Talent.
  2. My first Global Gathering was 2008 and I had an amazing time. I’m looking forward to seeing The Prodigy (again), Pendulum (again), Orbital, Chase & Status, DJ Yoda and Andy C.
  3. The Reading Festival last year was awesome. This year I want see Billy Talent (again), Alexisonfire, Rise Against, Gallows, Jamie T, Deftones, Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic Monkeys and Enter Shikari.

Film
My favourite films are either very situational and enthrawling like (Human Traffic, Trainspotting, Heat, Reservoir Dogs) or those with excellent cinematography (Snatch, Saving Private Ryan, The Departed).

I love space and sci-fi sagas; Aliens, Predator, Star Trek, Star Wars and Terminator spring to mind. I was very impressed by J.J Abrams Star Trek (2009) and can’t wait to see Terminator: Salvation.

Internet
Don’t get me started… I might never stop.

Physics and Astronomy
I admit it; I love physics. I’m fascinated by quantum physics, I’m amazed by cosmology and I’m in awe of higher dimensional theories.

I’m a physics geek with a huge telescope ;)

TV
My staple television diet at the moment consists of South Park, Family Guy, American Dad, Mock The Week, QI, Fawlty Towers, Black Adder and Seinfeld.

I’ve recently become a fan of Heroes and I’ve always loved 24. Jack Bauer has recently replaced Jean-Luc Picard as my #1 fictional hero.

I enjoy reality-based shows like The Apprentice, Dragons Den, Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares, Hells Kitchen USA.
