South Parks’s ‘Cloverfield‘ parody continues with ‘Pandemic 2: The Startling‘ which aired in the US October 29th 2008.

My name is Craig Tucker.

Last week was my birthday, my Grandma gave me a cheque for $100, I was so happy!

But then four kids from school came to my house and said I should use my $100 to invest in becoming, a Peruvian Flute Band…

If I die let it be known that it is because four guys I dont even like from school lied to me and took my birthday money.

As the South Park boys, reluctantly followed by Craig, explore Peru they stumble into ‘Land of The Giants, Lost World‘, much to Craig’s disgust, who points out that:

…this is why no-one at school wants to hang out with you guys.

Later the group wanders into an ancient Inca temple and see Craig painted on a wall in an ancient prophecy which seems to show him ridding the world of guinea pigs and setting free the Peruvian Flute Bands. Craig remains as ever, un-enthusiastic.

Meanwhile, South Park is attacked by many subspecies of giant guinea pigs, including guinea rabbits, guinea spiders, guinea bees, guinea rats, guinea mice, and a guineasaurus rex.

I thought the ever-more elaborate use of live-action guinea pigs in fancy dress destroying the cartoon town was genius.

Back in Peru, Craig decides to take a stand against the boys’ relentless lust for adventure and just walks off looking for a quiet life.

In doing so he leads the group to the lost city of Macchu Picchu where the Chief of Homeland Security is mocking an in-animate Incan Statue and reveals his true form; a Guinea Pirate!

In the final moments, Craig, who remains utterly dis-interested in adventure, unwillingly saves the day by accidentally directing occult power from an Incan statue into the Guinea Pirate using his eyes. And in doing so saves the world and fulfils the ancient prophecy.

Episode 10 of South Park’s Season 12, entitled ‘Pandemic‘, aired in the US October 22nd 2008.

Seeing the spread of Peruvian Flute Bands around the world the South Park boys devise a money-making scheme to become a Peruvian Flute Band and sell their CDs.

They convince Craig Tucker to invest the $100 his Grandma gave him for his birthday as start-up capital.

However, when the Department of Homeland Security declares a Peruvian Flute Band Epidemic (a Pandemic) the South Park boys are locked up in an internment camp in Miami.

The Peruvian Flute Band Internment Camp looks suspiciously like the refugee camp Tony and Manny are sent to in ‘Scarface‘.

Back in South Park, Randy Marsh’s obsession with a new video camera leads to an excellent ‘Cloverfield‘ parody.

I saw this coming when the video camera was mentioned but South Park did well to not touch upon this great ‘Cloverfield‘ parody until the final few moments of the episode.

As the episode closes Craig and the boys are sent to Peru on a wild goose chase and giant Guinea Pigs begin to attack the world’s major cities complete with ‘Cloverfield‘ parody style sound effects and destruction.

The ninth episode of South Park’s Season 12, entitled ‘Breast Cancer Show Ever‘, aired on in the US October 15th 2008.

I waited a week to watch ‘Breast Cancer Show Ever‘ online, and I was not disappointed.

In ‘Breast Cancer Show Ever‘ Cartman offends Wendy by mocking her during her speech to the class about Breast Cancer awareness. Cartman’s references to Wendy’s ‘killer titties’ being just to much for her to endure.

Wendy arranges a fight Cartman after school and she really means it!

Cartman goes to extraordinary lengths to get out of this, including lies about breast cancer, muscular dystrophy, muscular dystrophy of the titties and squeezing out a shit onto Mr Garrison’s desk to get detention.

Eventually Wendy and Cartman fight after school in a parody of the final fight scene in Guy Ritchie’s ‘Snatch‘.
