About
I’m a 26yr old Web Developer from Crawley, West Sussex, UK.
I’m known to my friends as Filth, I’m a blogger, a Webmaster and an über-geek.
I play a bit of poker, I watch alot of sci-fi and love British comedy. I like going to festivals and gigs, partying and I drink alot of coffee.
This year, for mine and DJ’s birthdays on June 3rd, we’re having a Star Wars Fancy Dress Garden Party.
Web Development
I’m a Web Developer for Rentokil Initial, our team also manages the twin web-estates of Rentokil and Initial and our group intranet.
Our Web Development team is considered a centre of excellence within Rentokil Initial’s Group Information Services division.
I specialise in writting standards-compliant, accessible XHTML and high-quality, cross-browser CSS.
I was the principal designer of rentokil.com’s new look and I’m currently working on deBugged; the Rentokil blog.
I have a good knowledge of PHP and MySQL having worked with LAMP web environments for over 4 years now.
I have a keen interest in Search Engine Optimisation; ranging from keyword analyis and sitemapping to robot/crawler tracking.
Promotion
I spent several years promoting an alternative nightclub event called FMRv2 (2002-2004) run by my friend, DJ Peet.
For a time it was very successful; attendance peaked at 550 people for the 2004 Xmas Bikini Party.
On that cold Christmas night as I was surrounded by hundreds of hot teenage girls moshing in bikinis, I realised the whole thing had reached a peak and jumped ship before the inevitable decline.
It was fun for a time. I got some fame and some sex, but it was alot of effort and there was no profit despite what people thought. I outgrew and now really dislike the vast majority of the Crawley client-base. But I’m still proud to say I was involved with it.
